Troubled actress Amanda Bynes was arrested Thursday after displaying questionable behavior in her NY apartment. News reports say a doorman contacted law enforcement after Bynes was allegedly caught smoking marijuana in the lobby of her NY apartment building.
After a psychiatric evaluation and an arraignment early Friday (May 24, 2013), Bynes was released on her own recognizance (meaning she did not have to post bail) and is scheduled to return to court on July 9, 2013.
This latest arrest comes after Bynes’ spiral out of control over the past few months. Her bizarre public displays and late-night Twitter posts have made her the subject of much ridicule and also public concern.

Bynes was arrested in Los Angeles County, California throughout 2012 on misdemeanor charges of driving with a suspended license, hit & run, and DUI. According to public court records, the DUI case remains pending.
