Ernenwein has over 35 years of experience as Hermosa Beach criminal and DUI attorneys

|

Consisting of only 1.4 square miles, Hermosa Beach is aptly known as “The Best Little Beach City.” Apart from its fantastic beach and festive pier, this city prides itself on its low crime rate. This is, in large part, due to the presence of both the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office as well as the Hermosa Beach City Prosecutor’s Office. Due to its active nightlife; however, Hermosa Beach pushes for an aggressive police presence and frequent DUI checkpoints.

Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office

The L.A. County D.A.’s Office operates throughout L.A. County and is comprised of hundreds of different prosecutors at any given time. Matters that come through Hermosa Beach are typically resolved through the Torrance Courthouse located at 825 Maple Avenue, Torrance, CA 90503.

The Torrance Courthouse branch of the District Attorney’s Office handles all felonies that originate out of the City of Hermosa Beach. A felony is a crime punishable by minimum confinement of one year in state prison. Felonies are commonly also punished by fines and formal, supervised probation. In California, felonies are categorized as either White Collar Felonies, Drug Felonies, Sex Felonies, or Violent and Serious Felonies. You can find out more information regarding these various types of felonies here.

Hermosa Beach City Prosecutor’s Office

Hermosa Beach City Prosecutor John Kildebeck recently retired in the Fall of 2013 after more than 25 years of service to the legal community. Mr. Kildebeck was and remains a dear friend to Ernenwein. Currently, there are two Hermosa Beach City Prosecutors: Ms. Natalie Karpeles and Mr. Trevor Rusin.

The Hermosa Beach City Prosecutor’s Office handles all misdemeanor offenses that originate within the City of Hermosa Beach. A misdemeanor is a crime punishable by a maximum confinement of one year in county jail. Misdemeanors also carry fines, commonly a maximum fine of $1,000.00.
